DALTON, Mass. — The Cultural Council tentatively approved partially funding various grant applications for local events and initiatives during its meeting on Monday. The council's priorities are to improve the quality of life for residents by promoting access, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences. Following a call for application in October, the organization received applications from 39 organizations and residents requesting funding for local events and initiatives amounting to $41,977. fourteen applications were tentatively approved. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City of Pittsfield announced that applications are now available for funding to provide human services that benefit Pittsfield residents. Funding is for the program year July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. Annually, the city, through its Human Services Advisory Council (HSAC), an 11-member volunteer committee, reviews proposals and submits recommendations to the mayor. Last year's recommendations provided funds for 20 human service programs, a total of $206,250. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority is in the process of rebranding to better clarify its mission. Clients know the organization as being an accessible, compassionate, and helpful place to access resources for housing and other human service needs but the word "authority" is sometimes confusing.
Burns Maxey of the firm Burnsmax was hired to direct the rebrand in September and Executive Director Brad Gordon hopes to present next month different recommendations that are not yet "ready for prime time."

 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Pittsfield school district's restructuring survey garnered more than 2,800 responses from students, parents, staff, and community members.
Representatives with DRA Architects, the firm conducting the study, told the School Building Needs Commission on Tuesday that they are pleased with the level of participation. This is coupled with a number of community forums to hear directly from the Pittsfield Public School community and beyond.
Nearly 1,470 students responded to the survey with the highest response rates coming from Reid Middle School and Egremont Elementary School with well over 200 responses each. In contrast, Herberg Middle School had less
