The Class of 2024 will kick off with a two-day retreat Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, which includes training in many facets of leadership, problem-solving techniques, and networking. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The streets were somber and red, white and blue on Friday evening as community members welcomed Air Force Staff Sgt. Jacob Galliher home. "I think Pittsfield is proving what it's always been," Mayor-elect Peter Marchetti said. "When there is a tragedy or when there is a need to rally together, Pittsfield rallies together and it makes me proud to be a Pittsfielder today."

 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The council subcommittee on economic development supported efforts to transform a Wendell Avenue office building into mixed-income apartments.
On Thursday, the subcommittee voted in favor of a ten-year tax increment exemption for 100 Wendell Avenue and an amendment to the Housing Development Zone to include the property. Both items are for the state Housing Development Incentive Program that helps gateway cities develop market-rate housing.
AM Management wants to convert a commercial building into "The Pointe" with 28 units, six of them designated affordable. The $3.8 million redevelopment would bring the assessed value of the property from

PITTSFIELD, Mass.— The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced that nearly $18 million in additional 2023 grant funding is being awarded to 11 communities and two planning agencies as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's(USDOT) Safe Streets?and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Taconic High School's automotive program now has a "Thundra" pickup that students can train on.
The School Committee on Wednesday accepted the donation of the 2023 Toyota Tundra for the high school's auto technology program. The truck is valued at more than $37,300 and will increase students' knowledge of Toyota maintenance and repair as part of the Toyota TECS, or Technician Education College Support, elite training program.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield will be turning out to pay tribute to Air Force Staff. Sgt. Jacob Galliher as his remains are returned home on Friday. Galliher, 24, was killed when the Osprey aircraft he was on crashed off the coast of Japan along with seven other crew members.
