BOSTON — The Department of Public Health (DPH) announced $1.8 million in state funding awarded to a group of community-based organizations and clinical providers under the Reproductive Health Access, Infrastructure, and Security Grants program. The funding provides financial assistance to individuals seeking abortion care, while also improving the ability of abortion service providers to deliver high-quality care by supporting infrastructure and security upgrades. This allocation marks the second round of awards under DPH's Reproductive Health Access, Infrastructure, and Security Grants program.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Seventy Pittsfield Public School students have been unhoused this school year, 20 more than the previous year.
"The numbers, in my opinion, are quite high," said Jennifer Stokes, assistant superintendent for school transformation and accountability.
On Wednesday, Stokes spoke with the Homelessness Advisory Committee about the district's McKinney-Vento population. The McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act is a federal program that helps homeless children and youth enroll in and attend school.
Since September, there have been 70 unhoused students in the district. Twelve have obtained housing, leaving 58 still without a stable roof over

The scammers are claiming to represent the tolling agency and requesting payment for unpaid tolls. MassDOT urges customers to be cautious about email, text, and phone scams demanding payment of outstanding toll balances. Some attempts have been made to trick customers into sharing credit card numbers and other sensitive information by directing them to a website to pay their outstanding balances. BOSTON – Following several weeks of snow and rain, Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rebecca Tepper declared the Central, Northeast, and Connecticut River Valley regions will be downgraded from a Level-3 Critical Drought to a Level-2 Significant Drought.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield Public Schools students and teachers had their personal information accessed as part of a worldwide PowerSchool breach. Mount Greylock Regional School District and Northern Berkshire School Union also reported some data was accessed. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The City of Pittsfield's Health Department is pleased to announce that it is now providing free Naloxone kits. The Department has qualified to participate in the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) Community Naloxone Program (CNP). Naloxone (Narcan) is a medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose and restore breathing within 2-3 minutes. Naloxone is safe, easy to administer (sprayed in the nose), and has no potential for abuse. DALTON, Mass. — Public Safety Advisory Committee members have constantly emphasized the need to obtain funding toward a new police station to lessen the burden on taxpayers. The Select Board allocated $100,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act funds for a feasibility study and a grant consultant rather than adding it to the special town meeting warrant in an effort to streamline the process.
