PITTSFIELD, Mass. — John Theodore Bedard, 75, of Pittsfield, died June 1, 2017.
Son of Theodore and Marie Germaine Bedard, John attended St. Joseph High School, completing his senior year at La Salette Seminary High School in Enfield, New Hampshire, in 1961. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving two of his four years in Germany as a Communications Analysis Specialist. John retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 38 years of service, and went on to work for Guardian Insurance in Pittsfield for ten years.
John was an accomplished classical pianist and enjoyed entertaining at The Senior Center, Bradford Adult Day Care, and Melbourne Place. A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, he attended daily mass and sang in the church choir.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, the former Pauline T. Gadoury; four children, Michael J. Bedard, Gabrielle M. Siraco (husband Richard), Mark T. Bedard (wife Allison), and Michelle T. Bedard (wife Sarah); his sister, Rita Bertolino (husband Raymond); former daughter-in-law, Veronica Torres Martin; and five grandchildren, Lola, Antonia, Juan Emilio, Santiago, and Sebastiano.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for John Theodore Bedard will be held Monday, June 5, 2017, at 1:30 p.m. from Dery Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 2 p.m., at Sacred Heart Church.
Calling hours will be Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to Sacred Heart Church, both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
