PITTSFIELD, Mass. — L. Helen Sicotte, 84, of 341 Holmes Road in Pittsfield, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 9, 2017.
Born on August 20, 1932, in Pittsfield, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Corrine Gaudet LaDouceur. A longtime Pittsfield resident, she was educated in Pittsfield schools. Her husband, the late Joseph R. Sicotte, died July 26, 2002.
Helen was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed taking care of her family. A communicant of St. Mark Church, she enjoyed reading, sewing, bird watching and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She leaves four daughters, Mary Ann Sicotte (Wojtkowski) and her husband David of Martinsburg, W. Va., Bonnie Sicotte and her fiancé Carl Moore of Pittsfield, Lisa Sicotte-Russo and her husband Jim of Pittsfield and Karen Jo Sicotte of West Stockbridge; a brother, Edward LaDouceur and his wife Connie of Pittsfield; a sister, Cecilia Garner of Williamstown; four grandchildren, Alicia Sicotte, Justin Wojtkowski, Joseph Sicotte and Jessica Russo; and a great-grandson, Gavyn Maston.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for L. Helen Sicotte, who passed away on June 9, 2017, will be held Monday, June 13, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church on Elm Street in Pittsfield. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery.
There are no calling hours. Memorial donations in memory of Helen may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital both in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is handling arrangements.
