PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mary E. Palma, 82, of Pittsfield passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, at her home.
She was born in Pittsfield on August 11, 1935, a daughter of the late Donato and Giuseppina (Cerulli) Maffuccio. Mary attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1953. Primarily a homemaker, Mary was amazing with her love, caring and kindness for her family and will be missed by all.
She enjoyed watching her soap operas, having tag sales, going to casinos, shopping at malls as well as cooking and baking at family gatherings during the holidays. Mary was a devout catholic and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
She was the widow of Frank D. Palma Jr., who died on October 20, 2010; they were married on September 14, 1957. Mary will be joining her husband in heaven so they can celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary and enjoy eternal happiness together.
Survivors include her son, Richard Palma and his companion Penny Lynne and her daughter Gianna of Pittsfield; two daughters, Deborah Palma Loomis and her husband William of Groton, Conn., and Sharon Palma of Pittsfield; two brothers, Carmelo A. Maffuccio and his wife Marilyn of Pittsfield and Lorenzo D. Maffuccio of Lee; two sisters, Virginia A. Maffuccio of Pittsfield and Lucy R. Santolin of Lee; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and her beloved cat, Nicholas.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, Ralph Maffuccio, who died on August 24, 1956, and Frank D. Maffuccio, who died on September 7, 2017.
