PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Howard Raymond Losaw, 80, died Monday, November 6, 2017, in Pittsfield.
He was born on February 27, 1937, to Roscoe and Helen Losaw in Tolland, Massachusetts. During his early years, he enjoyed his life working on various farms in New York and Massachusetts until he joined the United States Marine Corp, 2nd Guard Company at the age of 17.
After his years of military service, he worked at Schweitzer Mauduit Paper Mill until his retirement in 2002. His retirement years were spent tending to his ever-growing family and, of course, his garden, especially his famous horseradish.
Howard leaves behind his loving wife, Patricia (Gage) Losaw; his children and their spouses, Debra Losaw, Scott Losaw, Sandra and Brian Faulkner, and Kim and Dave Dowling; as well as his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His family would like to give a special thank you to the amazing friends that filled his life; his wonderful neighbors, Jim and Delphia; and the kind and attentive staff at Kindred Laurel Lake Rehabilitation Center for their care during these last few months.
