PITTSFIELD, Mass. — James David Underhill Jr., 40, of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away peacefully at his home on November 22, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jim was born on August 16, 1977. He worked up until the time of his sickness for Williams Paving in West Stockbridge, Mass. One of his greatest pride and enjoyments in life was spending time with his son, Wyatt. He was an avid New York Yankee and Giants fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf with his friends. Jim was a special man whom touched many hearts and impacted many lives with his strength, courage, humor and wit. He will be deeply missed by all, and will live forever in our hearts.
Jim was the son of James and Angela (Stracuzzi) Underhill. He leaves behind a beautiful son, Wyatt James, whom he will miss dearly; one brother, Christopher Underhill and his fiancée Shayna; a wife, Jody Underhill; and his loving Aunt Rose. He also leaves behind a close and dear companion, Kristen Lovallo, whom he shared many fond and precious memories in their short time together.
Jim’s family would like to thank all those at Hillcrest Oncology and Hospice Care in the Berkshires who took part in his care.
Funeral notice: There are no calling hours. Graveside services for James will take place Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Hayes, Chaplain at Hospice Care in the Berkshires, officiating. Those attending are invited to meet directly at the family plot located on top of the hill in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
