PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Amira T. Azar, 75, of 379 North Street, Capital Square Apartments, passed away at home on November 24, 2017.
Born on June 16, 1942 in Botmeh El Chouf, Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Toufic and Adele Bolus Azar. She immigrated to the United States in 1949 and was educated in Pittsfield schools. She was a 1962 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She was employed as a licensed cosmetologist at the former Ferris Beauty Salon in Pittsfield for several years.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing Keno and sharing her recipes for authentic Mideastern dishes.
She leaves her brother, Roger T. Azar of Pittsfield; her significant other, Jean Moreau of Pittsfield; her beloved nephew, Jason Azar and his wife Jeri and their sons Nathan and Joshua of Ijamsville, Maryland; and other cousins in Pittsfield and Canada.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Amira T. Azar, who passed away November 24, 2017 will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Monsignor Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
