PITTSFIELD, Mass. — David Allan LeClair, 59, of Pittsfield died suddenly on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in North Adams on January 8, 1958, a son of Jean Ann (Sebastino) LeClair and the late John A. LeClair Sr. David graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1976 and received his associate degree from Berkshire Community College in 1979. He then obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern New Mexico University in 1981.
David was employed from 1982 to 2014 at the Berkshire Eagle in Pittsfield as a graphic artist and designer. He later worked at Sugar Hill Senior Living in Dalton and was last employed as a security guard at General Dynamics in Pittsfield.
David was a former communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys fan as well as a Civil War history enthusiast. He had a knack for decorating both indoors and outdoors. He loved landscaping and maintaining his beautiful lawn and garden and was always there to help friends with their lawn problems. He took great joy in family gatherings and events.
Survivors include his mother, Jean LeClair of North Adams; two sisters, Suzanne Patenaude and her husband Bruce of North Adams and Linda Hoglund and her husband Edward of Merritt Island, Fla.; and one brother, John A. LeClair Jr. and his wife Kathy of North Adams. He also leaves seven loving nieces and nephews Robert, Mark and Scott Patenaude, Kelsey LeClair, Katelyn McCarthy, and Adam and Michelle Kudelka. He also leaves four grandnieces and two grandnephews.
Funeral notice: Funeral services to celebrate the life of David LeClair will take place Friday, January 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will take place in the spring in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. A Calling Hour will take place on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
