Joseph P. Rossin, 88

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Joseph P. Rossin, 88, of 16 Pembroke Ave., the Lakewood Section of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away January 22, 2018.
He was born, October 1, 1929 to the late Giacamo and Doratea Guarda Rossin. Mr. Rossin was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and then went on to join the US Air Force, where he served in the Korean War.
Mr. Rossin was married to the late Dora Agata Mazza, who he was predeceased by on August 20, 2006. He was an Armored Car Guard for many years, working as a guard for Berkshire Armored Car and GE Ordnance.
A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Mr. Rossin also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He previously was a communicant of All Soul’s Church.
Mr. Rossin leaves his son, Gary J. Rossin of Pittsfield; a grandson, Christopher Rossin of Pittsfield; sisters-in-law Inez Denning of Dalton and Hazel Mazza of Pittsfield; and his dear friend, Deb Tyer.
His son Gary would like to extend a special thank you to Engine 6, the Doctors and Nurses at Berkshire Medical Center and the staff at Mt. Carmel Care Center.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Joseph P. Rossin will be held Friday January 26, 2018, at 10:15 a.m. from Dery Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Peter M. Naranjo II officiating.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
