PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mr. James G. Adams, 77, of Adams died Monday afternoon, February 5, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
He was born in Evanston, Illinois, on October 11, 1941, a son of the late Lyndon O. and Edith S. (Davis) Adams, and attended schools in Illinois. He came to this area in 1981. Jim last worked as a rural route carrier at the Williamstown Post Office, until retiring 15 years ago. Earlier, he worked at the former Nassif’s Pharmacy in North Adams for several years.
He enjoyed collecting coins and antiques, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Claire Stoessel, whom he married on December 28, 1980; two stepdaughters, Tammy Chaperon of Pittsfield, and Tiersa Bazo of Madbury, New Hampshire; a brother, Lyndon D. Adams of Texas; five grandchildren, including Justin Kruszyna, Renee Kruszyna, Ashley Albert, Brodie Bazo and Colin Bazo; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Villars.
Funeral notice: A graveside service will be held in the spring at Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 59 Bobala Rd. # 2, Holyoke, MA 01040. The Paciorek Funeral Home, Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
