Mary E. Moody, 90

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mary Ella Moody, 90, of 28 Plastics Ave., died Friday, March 16, 2018, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care, where she had been a patient the past year.



Born in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, on October 21, 1927, a daughter Benjamin and Sarah Williams Brown, she was educated in Georgia schools. Mrs. Moody was employed by General Electric Company where she worked as an assembler in the Ordnance Systems Division. She retired in 1990 with 25 years of service.



She enjoyed cooking and fishing, as well as spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.



Her husband, Curtis Moody, Sr., whom she married on February 16, 1947, in Savannah, Georgia, died March 20, 1995.



Mrs. Moody is survived by three sons, Frank (wife Anna) Moody of Pittsfield, David T. (wife Joanne) of Rockingham, N.C., and Nathan T. (wife Dawn) Moody of Pittsfield; three daughters, Mildred Small of Pittsfield, Sharon Moody of Pittsfield and Tresa J. Moody of Pittsfield; three sisters, Ernestine McIntyre of Columbus, Georgia, Betty Howe of Louisville, Kentucky, and Thelma Brown of Los Angeles, Calif.; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her former son-in-law, Farin Small of Pittsfield.



She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Angela Jones; and by two sons, Curtis Moody Jr., and Charles R. Brown.



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Mary Ella Moody will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018, at noon at Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. The omission of flowers is requested. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Moody may be made to the family to assist with the purchase of a monument.
