PITTSFIELD, Mass. — On April 13, 2018, Jean Marie McNulty Bolan passed away peacefully at the age of 97 in Pittsfield, Mass.
Born in Orange, N.J., in 1920, Jean was the eldest of five children and attended high school in Montclair, N.J. She was a beloved wife and mother and raised her three children in Westfield, N.J. She treasured working with local youth and was most proud of being a leader in the Boy and Girl Scouts of America.
She enjoyed needlepoint, gardening, and sharing time with her loved ones.
After her husband passed away, she moved to Summit, N.J., where she worked as a Medical Receptionist at the Summit Medical Group until she retired in her 70s. After that time she relocated to Pittsfield, Mass., to be closer to her youngest daughter and family.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Judith Burt and her husband Dr. Donald P. Burt; son-in-law Dr. William Sherman; five grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Sherman and Catherine, Daniel and Paul Burt; and four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Micah and Benjamin Sherman and Jack Bolan Cantin.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Bolan Jr.; her daughter Barbara Sherman; and her son Robert J. Bolan III.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 7, 2018, at 9:30 a.m at St. Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Summit, N.J.
