PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Cornelia 'Teya' Lamke, 82, of Epworth Arms, Pittsfield, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Springside of Pittsfield.
Born on July 17, 1935, the daughter of Cortland L. and Cornelia Harder Rawling, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1953 graduate of Pittsfield High School, and took continuing education courses at Berkshire Community College and the University of Massachusetts.
In 1953, Mrs. Lamke began her working career at General Electric Company where she worked as an accountant in the Power Transformer Division until 1966. Returning to the workforce in 1980, she went to work for Beloit-Jones Corporation in Dalton where she was a cost accountant until 1986. In 1986, she was appointed Tax Collector for the Town of Richmond, a position she held until 1999. She worked briefly for Berkshire Life Insurance Company in 2005.
Mrs. Lamke was a member of Berkshire Community Church in Richmond.
Mrs. Lamke is survived by six sons, John (and Donna) Lamke of Richmond, Michael (and Judi) Lamke of Richmond, Brian Lamke of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., David Lamke of Richmond, Daniel Lamke of Pittsfield, and Dennis Lamke of West Stockbridge; two daughters, Linda (and James) Kingsley of Richmond and Nancy (and Andrew) Perkins of Pittsfield; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother David (and Suzanne) Rawling of Canaan, N.Y.; a sister, Sara (and John) Hagan of Leeds, N.Y.; and her companion of six years, Yvon Richard of Pittsfield.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Henry J. Lamke Jr.; two brothers, Dwight L. Rawling and James R. Rawling; and a sister, Cynthia J. Daly.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Cornelia "Teya" Lamke will be held Monday, May 14, 2018, at 6 p.m., at Dery Funeral Home with Rev. Angela Raciti, officiating. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
