PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Willard A. Curtis, 62, of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away at home on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
Willard was born on November 11, 1955, the son of the late Willard R. Curtis and Janet Markham Curtis. He grew up in Ashley Falls and graduated from Mt. Everett Regional in Sheffield.
He was a member of the A.P.A. amateur pool circuit and competed locally and nationally, loved riding his motorcycle and went to many bike rallies with friends. He had a passion for his plants both inside and out.
He worked at Rising Paper Co in Housatonic, Mass., for many years and later owned and operated The Tavern in Pittsfield.
He leaves his son, Justin VanAlphen and his wife Ella of Old Lyme, Conn.; a sister, Holly Smith of Greenville, N.C.; a brother, Trevor A. Curtis of Ashley Falls, Mass.; three nephews; and a great nephew.
He is predeceased by his mother and father and a sister, Heide Curtis.
Funeral notice: The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington, followed by a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
