PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Nancy Jean Hamilton, 59, of 18 Cromwell Ave., Pittsfield, Mass., passed away July 27, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born on February 19, 1959, the daughter of the late John C. and Edith (Watson) Smith, she attended Hancock schools and was a 1977 graduate of New Lebanon Central High School.
Nancy married Paul S. Hamilton on July 19, 1986.
She worked as a kitchen manager for 24 years at Matt Reilly’s Pub, and stopped working in March 2018 due to illness.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She also enjoyed reading, shopping, and watching the New York Giants with her husband. Before moving to Pittsfield, she was a member of the Second Congregational Church in South Williamstown.
Nancy leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Paul S. Hamilton of Pittsfield; two daughters, Kristy Hamilton and Amanda Hamilton, both of Pittsfield; her granddaughter, Chelsea Jean Hamilton of Pittsfield; three sisters, Carol Morrison and her husband Robert of Pownal, Vt. Cathy LeBarron and her husband Paul of Lanesboro, Mass., and Susan Tetreault and her husband Philip of McCool, Neb.; and her brother Robert Smith and his wife Susan of Hancock, Mass.
She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Jean Smith.
Funeral notice: Graveside services for Nancy J. Hamilton will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Hancock Cemetery, celebrated by Rev. Barbara Kersher. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to noon at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name in care of the funeral home, to help offset funeral expenses.
