PITTSFIELD, Mass. — John Anthony Bove, 59, of Pittsfield died unexpectedly on Friday, August 10, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center.
He was born in Hazelton, Pa., on May 4, 1959, the son of the late John Bove and Ann Galagher Bove Winters. After graduating from High School, he served in the United States Army.
John was employed as a truck driver for J&R Schugel for many years before taking some time off to be with his family in June. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, puttering around the house and yard, collecting old coins and currency, and spending time getting to know people wherever he traveled.
John is survived by his daughter, Ashley N. Bove of Pittsfield; his former wife, Darlene M. Bove of Pittsfield; his mother-in-law, Joyce Dufur of Lanesborough; his two sisters, Linda Bell of California and Colleen Winters; his brother-in-law, Edward Dufur of Lanesborough; two nephews, Edward Dufur Jr. and Thomas Bell; and two nieces, Savannah Dufur and Valerie Bell.
Funeral notice: Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. with Military Honors at the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
