PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Ellen Jean Rudd, 83, of Pittsfield died Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on November 1, 1934, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Primarily a homemaker, she had worked as a clerk at Berkshire Bank in earlier years.

Mrs. Rudd was a member of the Pittsfield Church of Christ. Ellen was a very beloved member of the community. She was known for spreading joy to the hearts of people from all walks of life. Her favorite hobby was butterflies. 

She was predeceased by two husbands, Henry A. Crady Jr. and Clarence Rudd. 

Mrs. Rudd is survived by a daughter, Anne M. (husband Dwight) Edwards of Hillsborough, N.C.; a son, Mark H. (wife Susan J.) Crady of Titusville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Christopher Edwards, Brian Edwards, Krysten Crady, and Devon Crady; and three great grandchildren Cartar Crady, Ryder Lewellen, Zayla Drennan.

Funeral notice: A memorial service for Ellen J. Rudd will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Pittsfield Church of Christ, 826 Valentine Road, Pittsfield, with Rev. Russell Moody, Pastor, officiating. There are no calling hours. The Dery Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Giving Garden.
