PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Richard Thomas “Fish” Fischer, 77, of Pecks Road, Pittsfield, died Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born in Pittsfield on February 8, 1941, the son of Carl and Florence Murray Fischer, he attended Pittsfield schools. He was employed by Gaviorno Roofing for much of his working life.
As a young man, Dick enjoyed fishing and hunting and was always eager for a good card game. He was a gentle man with an easy-going nature who had a strong devotion to the people he loved.
Dick will be sadly missed by his loving companion of 38 years, Josie Rotti; his sister, Claire Grady of Pittsfield; his sister-in-law, Edith Fischer of Hawaii; and his many nieces and nephews. Dick also shared a close relationship with Josie’s nieces and nephews; her sister, Cookie; and his friends, Jack, Donald and Ditto.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Carl, Robert (Shirley), and Charles (Ann); and brother-in-law, Daniel Grady.
