PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Lynn Carol Maloney, 71, of Pittsfield died Friday, December 14, 2018, at her home.
Born in Pittsfield on November 3, 1947, the daughter of William E. and Fern Stroup Blake, she was a 1965 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Maloney had previously worked as a cook at the former Hillcrest Hospital, a cook/nurses aide at the former Berkshire Nursing Home, and lastly for two years as a cashier at Big Y. She enjoyed meeting and talking to people on a daily basis. Wherever she went she found a friend.
Mrs. Maloney was devoted to her family. She put the needs of others before her own. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to the casinos. Lynn also enjoyed playing pitch on Fridays at the Pittsfield Senior Center.
Her husband, John T. Maloney, whom she married January 7, 1966, died May 22, 2015. John was Lynn’s world. Their love was one in a million.
Mrs. Maloney is survived by four children, Stacey A. (and Stanley) DeGroff of Hannibal, New York, Kelly J. (and Jay) Deeley of North Adams, James E. (and Angel) Maloney of Pittsfield, and John T. (and Carol) Maloney of Pittsfield; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Lynn Carol Maloney will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Rev. Joan Carron, Chaplain with HospiceCare in the Berkshires, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
