Gordon J. Adelson, 93

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mr. Gordon J. Adelson, 93, of 18 Sampson Parkway died Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on June 25, 1925, son of Samuel and Sylvia Adelson, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. After high school, Mr. Adelson volunteered for the U.S. Army and served in Europe during World War II. After the war, he attended the Wharton School of Business and received a graduate degree in accounting and earned his CPA.
He worked for and was a partner in Adelson and Company and has been retired for many years, spending many winters in Florida.
He married the love of his life, Ida Lubin, on December 28, 1947. They were married for 50 years until her death on February 28, 1998. He was a lifetime member of Knesset Israel.
He leaves his sons, Bruce E. Adelson, Michael R. Adelson and Mark R. Adelson (Deborah); grandchildren Sam, Nate, Sarah, Jessie, Haley and Allie, his great-grandson Parker Forest Hamilton; and his sister-in-law, Molly Novick.
Funeral notice: Funeral services will take place Monday, January 21, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Congregation Knesset Israel, 16 Colt Road, Pittsfield, with Rabbi David Weiner, Spiritual Leader, officiating. Burial will follow at Knesset Israel Cemetery, 484 Pecks Road, Pittsfield.
Following the burial, a meal of consolation will take place at Congregation Knesset Israel. The Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivengafl Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, Mass., is in charge of arrangements.
