PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Stefanie "Bunny" Huska, 93, of 995 Pecks Road, Pittsfield, Mass., passed away January 23, 2019, at home.
She was born in Pittsfield on August 12, 1925, to the late Nicholas and Anna Schklanovska Stefaniuk. Bunny was educated in Pittsfield Schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She married the late Walter J. Huska, on September 14, 1963, at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. He predeceased her on April 25, 1985.
Primarily a homemaker, she at one time worked at Eaton Paper Company.
Mrs. Huska was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church and also was a member of the Women's Club at the church. She enjoyed knitting, word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and especially adored her three grandchildren.
Mrs. Huska leaves behind her two daughters, Christine A. Swiatlowski of Manlius, N.Y., and Katrina D. Marquis and her husband Brian of Lanesborough, Mass.; three grandchildren, Brenden Marquis, Dakota Marquis and Sarah Swiatlowski, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, David Swiatlowski in 2018; and two sisters, Amelia Stefaniuk and Clementina Pell.
Funeral notice: Funeral services for Stefanie "Bunny" Huska will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home with Rev. Janusz Jedrychowski, pastor of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Hudson, N.Y., officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Monday, January 28, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Heart Association or Huntington's Disease Society of America in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
