PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Jean Jefferson, McNeil, Allsop 86, born in Pittsfield to the late John E. Jefferson and Florence Farnam Jefferson passed away on May 10, 2021, with her children by her side.
Jean attended schools in Pittsfield and graduated from Drury High School in 1953. In 1954 she started her career as a sales manager and coat buyer at That Coat Place in Adams where she retired from in 1992. While employed there she was a member of The Adams Chamber of Commerce. Jean moved to Williamstown in 1992 and was an active member of the Gale Hose Auxiliary and Sts. Patrick & Raphael Parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Allsop, daughter Kathleen Kovack and husband David Kovack, sister Joan Pannetti and husband Alexander Pannetti. Her brother David Jefferson, stepdaughter Susan Allsop, first husband William McNeil and sister-in-law Louise also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother William, children Jacqueline McNeil Aquadro (Bill) Michael McNeil (Lisa), 3 stepchildren Allen Allsop (Anne) Sharon Parmenter (Mark) and Robin Allsop. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joseph Sharif, Tara Sharif, Connor McNeil (Madison) and Shaelyn McNeil, 3 step grandchildren Justin Parmenter, Megan Parmenter, Ashton Allsop and 1 great granddaughter Declan McNeil.
She also leaves nieces, Jean Hooper, Janet Stone, Angela Rawson, Patricia Jefferson, Melissa Castegnaro, Lisa Runyan, Kelly Jean Jefferson, and nephews William Jefferson, Brian and Darin Jefferson, and sister-in-law Penny Jefferson.
A memorial service will be held at Williamstown Cemetery on June 19 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Williamstown Fire Department at 34 Water St. Williamstown, MA 01267 or Alert Hose Co #1 at 3 Columbia St. Adams, MA 01220
