PITTSFIELD, Mass. —
Mrs. Dorothy (Dunsmore) DiOrio, 95, of Pittsfield, died peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021 surrounded by her family at home.
She was born in North Adams on August 12, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Mabel (Neville) Dunsmore. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School.
Her husband, Raymond G. DiOrio, whom she married on June 2, 1945, died on May 6, 2012.
She is survived by her four grandchildren, Shane & Jaime Cassavant and Kelly (DiOrio) Lange and Brian DiOrio; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Richard DiOrio and her daughter Marcia Cassavant, as well as five sisters and five brothers.
The family would like to thank Hospice Care in the Berkshires for their wonderful care, especially Linda who Granny lovingly referred to as the “magical white hair lady.”
Funeral services and burial will be private.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to the Marcia Cassavant Scholarship Fund through the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, which is in charge of arrangements.
