Fay Marguerite Renzi (Canavan), 92, of Richmond, MA. passed away peacefully after living a long love filled life on July 11, 2021.
Fay was born on February 25, 1929 to Raymond Canavan and Alice Cook Canavan. Fay was born and raised in Pittsfield and was one of four children. Fay was a graduate of Pittsfield High School where she met the love of her life, James J. Renzi.
Fay worked various jobs and retired in 1988 after working for 20 years at Berkshire Community College. Of the jobs Fay held, being a wife and mother were her most favorite. Fay married her high school sweetheart, James, on June 11, 1949 and had five children together. Her family was her pride and joy and they made many lifelong memories vacationing to Florida where they enjoyed the sun and each others company.
After the loss of her husband, Fay could be found spending her summers in the Berkshires with her children and her winters in Greenacres, Florida enjoying her time with her two sisters by the pool and at the beach.
Fay believed strongly that OJ was innocent, and that MSNBC should be watched daily. Fay enjoyed travelling (so long as it included an ocean view), playing cards with her children and gambling until her fingers hurt. Fay was rarely seen without her nails painted pink, a curler in her hair and being dressed to the nines.
Fay is survived by three of her children Mark Renzi, Donna Hayes and Sheila Aitken (Robert). Fay is also survived by her two sisters, Joyce Hisert and Betty Monahan, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her son-in-law Horace Costa, and daughter-in-law Deborah Renzi all who loved her dearly.
Fay was predeceased by her husband James Renzi, her brother Raymond Canavan her two children, Kim Costa and Michael Renzi and her son-in-law James Hayes.
In honor of Fay’s wishes there will be no calling hours, and the family will hold a private service. To add to the Book of Memories, please visit www.flynndagnolifuneralhomes.com.
