PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Remo DiTomasso, 82 of Pittsfield, MA died on Thursday August 5, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Pittsfield, MA on November 1, 1938, a son of Antonino and Rosa (Cicchelli) DiTomasso. Remo attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1956. He graduated from Bryant College and received his MBA from Western New England College.
Remo was employed by the Defense Contract Audit Agency, a division of the federal government. He worked at Hamilton Standard, Pratt & Whitney, GE, and General Dynamics until his retirement in 2000. He was well liked by his co-workers, who gave him 3 parties upon his retirement.
Remo was a very kind and generous person, who always put his family first. He enjoyed traveling with them to Clinton Beach CT, Hampton Beach, Cape Cod, Florida and Maine.
He was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Remo enjoyed bowling at the Candle Lanes and playing golf at Wahconah Country Club where he was a member for many years. He was an avid sportsman and excelled at many sports including basketball and horseshoes. In fact, he was very competitive and loved to win at every game he played. Remo enjoyed following the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janice M. (Zorzin) DiTomasso whom he married on July 10, 1965 and his daughter- Karen (Douglas) Bates of Pittsfield and two sons- John (Bonny) DiTomasso of Peru, MA and David DiTomasso of Pittsfield. He also leaves his brother- Dino DiTomasso and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers- John N. DiTomasso and Elio DiTomasso.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Remo DiTomasso will be Wednesday August 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Pittsfield, MA. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
