PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Joseph T. Livecchi, 80, passed away on June 4, 2021.
He was born on June 26, 1940, in Pittsfield. Joseph graduated from Pittsfield High in 1958 and then attended Barber school in Boston. He was a dedicated Barber for 61 years, 1958-2019 and owner of the Royal Barber Shop on Fenn St., Pittsfield. Joseph was forced to leave behind his career passion of barbering in October of 2019 because of a terminal illness.
Saturday morning was his favorite time in his shop with the gathering of his customers. One of his profound enjoyments was learning about his customers' lives, remembering everyone's family and their endeavors. Joseph took part in many of their family celebrations from weddings, birthday parties and even visited to pay respects to them and the passing of their loved ones.
Joseph had many talents; doing most of the repairs and upkeep on his properties. He enjoyed playing his guitars and playing cribbage and Italian card games with his beloved, Mary Woolley.
Joseph will be missed dearly by his eldest son Timothy Astore and his daughter and next oldest Brenda Elman. He also leaves his two younger sons Thomas and David. Joe is sincerely missed by "the love of his life", Mary, who was also his only caregiver. Joseph is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Joseph's funeral was held at the Dwyer Funeral Home on June 11, 2021.
