PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Antonio Jacob Cardeno, 29, of Pittsfield, passed away on Aug. 6, 2022.
He was born in Pittsfield on Jan. 7, 1993, the son of Ivan and Jacquelyn Ahlen Cardeno. He graduated from Hoosac Valley High School in Cheshire with the class of 2011. He then attended the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and Berkshire Community College, and earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, where he played rugby.
Antonio worked as a pharmacy technician at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He enjoyed gaming, music, and attending concerts.
He is survived by his parents, Ivan and Jacquelyn Cardeno, of Cheshire; two sisters, Stephanie Shatford and her husband, Lucas, of Cheshire, and Maria Cardeno of Pittsfield; his niece, Magnolia; his maternal grandparents, Jon and Marie Ahlen of Pittsfield, and his paternal grandfather, Fabio Cardeno of Melbourne, Fla, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Amparo Cardeno.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service to celebrate Antonio's life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, a 1 p.m. at PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams. Friends may visit with his family from noon until the service, at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family has set up the Antonio Cardeno Scholarship Fund, to help children and young adults pursue their love of music or science.
