Raymond Warner

Raymond Jay Warner, 73, of 41 New Hampshire Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on May 3, 1928, son of Arthur Parsons Warner and Rose LaFleur Warner Hunt, he graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1947.
Mr. Warner was employed by Carr Hardware, retiring in 1987 because of ill health. Prior to that, he was employed at Western Massachusetts Electric Co. and later as a salesman for Wohrle's Foods Inc. and for the former Berkshire Beef Co.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church, where he served on many boards and committees. He also was active in Scouting and served as scoutmaster of Troop 2 in the early 1970s. He was a former member of the Pittsfield Jaycees.
He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Hume, whom he married Nov. 20, 1948; a son, Craig M. Warner of Malta, N.Y.; a daughter, Nancy Jenkins of Pittsfield; a sister, Charlotte Kilfeather of Pittsfield, and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by two children who died in infancy. He was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Warner.
A memorial service for Raymond Jay Warner will be held Tuesday at 2 at First Baptist Church in Pittsfield, with the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Rennie, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, will be Monday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Renal Dialysis Fund of Berkshire Medical Center in care of the funeral home.
