My condolences to the family I remember Nate from High School we graduated the same year 1997. We even rode the same bus to school he was so kind and caring. | from: Jennifer M Hadsell | on: 04-23-2024 |

I posted this on Facebook, but I would also like to post part of it here. All my love and condolences to The Giles family. I am devastated and absolutely heartbroken. Nate was an amazing human being. He was an honest, kind, loyal, and supportive friend — and also a righteous rebel and ally in the name of all that is fair and just. Nate always seemed to be able to cut through the BS and see things for what they were. He wasn’t cynical, just a realist. As I get older, I appreciate that more and more.
Nate made it a point to attend my college graduation ceremony, and my family welcomed him into the Demastrie fold that weekend with open arms. I drove with him back to Massachusetts, and we had some serious talks about a number of issues both personal and political. While I won’t share those specific conversations here, I can tell you that he could have you laughing hysterically about something stupid, and then a half hour later, you’d be having a profound conversation with him about something really serious, while also singing along to Letters to Cleo, one of his favorite bands. Nate and I also got our first tattoos together in Washington, DC when he came down to visit me once. He got a beautiful tattoo on his shoulder of the hour glass with wings image from the cover of the Smashing Pumpkins’ seminal album “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.” It was one of his favorite records. I got a small tattoo of a purple flower on my lower back. I didn’t care about the tattoo. I just wanted to support my friend by getting one too!! Nate was probably the most authentic friend I’ve ever had, because he was always true to himself and was always real with others. If he was your friend, he always had your back. He also taught me how important honesty and authenticity are. I hadn’t seen or spoken to Nate in quite some time, and even though it’s no one’s fault and is just what happens in life, I still feel guilty and regretful that I didn’t stay in better touch with him. Nate, I hope you realize how loved and appreciated you were by everyone who knew you. I’m sorry I never got the chance to tell you what an important friend you were to me and how grateful I am to have known you and learned from you. I hope you are at peace, and I hope you can feel our love for you emanating from our dimension into yours. ??? | from: Emma Demastrie | on: 04-20-2024 |

It is hard to comprehend and understand that you have left this world. It was too soon for you and too soon for Tisha, Jasper, Brady, your Mom, sister and all the rest. Wish we had the opportunity to hang out and visit with each other one more time. We are far away but will do everything we can to help Tisha and Jasper through their grief. Love you all. | from: Judy Walters | on: 04-18-2024 |
