Angela Brett-Lucaroni

August 06, 2024

PITTSFIELD, Mass. —

Angela Brett-Lucaroni, age 63, of Pittsfield passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 6, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 6, 1960, Angela was a daughter of Florence Kubli Brett and the late Peter T. Brett. She was educated in the local schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School where she was awarded an “outstanding artist award” from the PHS Art Department. She later studied at Cornell University where she earned a hospitality and culinary certificate and also earned her associate’s degree in culinary arts from Berkshire Community College.

She married Michael E. Lucaroni on April 16, 1983 at St. Teresa’s Church. Together, she and Michael owned and managed the former Lucaroni’s Restaurant on First Street in the late 80s and early 90s.

Angela worked for Miller’s Art Supply for over 10 years where she also displayed some of her art. Not only was she an attentive and knowledgeable store clerk and cashier, but she was also very talented and sought out personally for her skills as a framer while working in the frame shape shop.

She was primarily an artist and was talented with painting and drawing in many different mediums to include watercolor, oil, acrylics and pencil, both colored and graphite/charcoal. Her paintings were exhibited at many local venues and her “Amazing ART Gallery” is displayed on her Facebook page.  She was a longtime member of the Dalton Art Guild.

Angela loved to write, especially poetry, and had written and illustrated the children's book Tobias’s Wish.

Angela took great pride in her home and her yard, especially her gardens. She was a creative and spiritual woman that embraced the natural world around her. She loved to be outdoors, especially by water. Her family took annual vacations to Cape Cod for over 20 years, and she spent as much time swimming as she could.

Angela could speak to anyone and loved to talk. She spoke eloquently and was a well-informed woman. She enjoyed researching the things she found to be fascinating, especially when it came to astrology and the theories around our world and our existence as a whole.

Angela is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Michael E. Lucaroni, her two beloved daughters, Alicia Brett-Lucaroni and her partner Zacharie Beauchamp, Alayna Brett- Lucaroni, and her grandson that she cherished spending time with, Jeremiah. She also leaves her mother, Florence Brett and her partner Roger Gutwillig, her sister Alison Brett and her husband Richard Welch, her niece Shannon Welch, her cousin Jennifer Mason, who was especially close and supportive of Angela.

Angela was predeceased by her son, Alex Michael Brett-Lucaroni, who passed away on March 19, 2024, and her father Peter T. Brett.

A prayer service was held privately for the family. A celebration of life to honor both Angela and Alex will be Monday, August 19th from 12-3PM at the Italian American Club on Newell St. and all are invited to join and share memories of Angela’s and Alex’s journey on Earth.
