Mary Rixse, 86, of 75 Bellmore Drive died yesterday at Hillcrest Commons.
Born in Pittsfield on March 17, 1916, daughter of John and Justine Iwanyczak Olekson, she attended Pittsfield High School.
She was employed in the chemical department of General Electric Co. during World War II. She later worked as a department clerk for Kmart, retiring in 1980 after 14 years of service.
Mrs. Rixse was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality.
She leaves her husband, George E. Rixse, whom she married Nov. 5, 1948, in St. John's Ukrainian Church, and a daughter, Donna May Kirby of Mansfield. She was predeceased by a brother, William Olekson.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, at 8:45 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 9, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
