Ruth E. Salvini, 95, formerly of School Street, Chester, died Thursday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility.
Born in Chester on June 10, 1907, daughter of Eugene J. and Edna Soule Besancon, she attended schools there.
Mrs. Salvini was employed by the former Strathmore Paper Co. many years ago.
She was a communicant of St. John's Mission Church and a member of the Senior Citizens Council, both in Chester.
Her husband, Randolph G. Salvini, died in 1990.
She leaves two sons, Stephen A. Salvini of Pittsfield and John F. Salvini of Chester; a daughter, Claire A. Willey of Dalton; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 from O'BRIEN HILLTOWN COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME in Huntington, followed by services in St. John's Church at 10. Burial will be in St. Thomas' Cemetery in Huntington. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 5 to 8. Donations may be made to the St. Thomas' Church Building Fund, East Main Street, Huntington, MA 01050.
