Cherilyn C. Branton, 50, of 225 Linden St. died at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worester on Wednesday.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 12, 1953, daughter of Ernest M. and Elizabeth J.Z. Pierce Branton, she was a 1972 graduate of Taconic High School.
For several years, she volunteered as a teacher's assistant at the Greater Grace Christian School in Lee.
She also acted as a regent for Liberty University of Lynchburg, Va., for an extended period of time.
She was a devout Christian and a member of Hope Advent Church of Lenox.
She leaves two sisters, Diane St. Martin of Pittsfield and Rosel Patton of Worcester; two brothers, Howard James Branton and John Branton, both of Pittsfield, and a daughter, Florance Jean St. Marie.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Cherilyn C. Branton will be on Monday at 6 at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 6 at the funeral home.
Following cremation, burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery.
Among survivors are her nephews, Michael Branton of Memphis, Tenn., and Wilbur F. Garabedian III of Auburn; a niece, Jennifer Rose Yorke of Peoria, Ariz.; three grandnieces, Sarah, Rachel and Madelynn, and two grandnephews, Ryan and Matthew.
