Julia Louise Hamling, 83, of 14 Cove St. died Sunday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 14, 1921, daughter of Augustus and Mabel Sawyer Marlowe, she was a 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Hamling was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
She and her husband, Harold C. Hamling Sr., celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary Nov. 28.
They were married in 1940 at St. Mary's Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Ronald B. Hamling of Hinsdale, and Harold C. Hamling Jr. and Mark M. Hamling, both of Pittsfield; four daughters, Elizabeth M. Woodin and Melinda L. Green, both of Pittsfield, Janet C. Verge of Hinsdale and Jody J. Errichetto of Windsor; 20 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Julia Louise Hamling, who died Dec. 12, will be Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 10:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Joseph's Church celebrated by the Rev. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eagle Santa Toy Fund in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister. Mrs. Hamling was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Her life centered around being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
