Margaret Irene Boyer, 86, of 255 Lebanon Ave. died Monday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since March 2004.
She was also a resident of Curtis Manor in Dalton for several years.
Born in Boston on Aug. 18, 1919, daughter of John H. and Mary Manning Caddigan, she attended schools there.
A Navy veteran of World War II, she served from Feb. 26, 1943, to Jan. 5, 1944, and was honorably discharged as a yeoman third class.
Mrs. Boyer was formerly employed by the U.S.government as a secretary in Washington.
She enjoyed reading and her friends at Curtis Manor.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A chapel service with military honors for Margaret I. Boyer, who died May 29, 2006, will be held today, June 2, at 2 at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
There will be no calling hours. For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to Springside of Pittsfield Activity Programs, in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is handling arrangements.
