Milling and Paving Operations on Merrill Road

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will be conducting milling and paving operations on a section of Merrill Road (Route 9) in Pittsfield. 
 
The work will take place from approximately 400 feet west of the East Street and Merrill Road intersection to the intersection of Junction Road. 
 
The work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 3, and is expected to last approximately four weeks. Work will be conducted from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. One lane in each direction will be maintained throughout the project.
 
The work will include removing the existing pavement surface, repairing and adjusting drainage structures, installing new pavement, and applying new traffic markings.
 
Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
 
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
 
All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
